video format for Brookstone Digital Frame

I am trying to find the correct video format for a Brookstone 8" Picture Show model 630855. I am using iMovie but would be willing to try another program. The product manual only states that the compatible video formats are AVI, MPG, MP4, or MOV. When I upload a video clip it is highly pixelated and grainy. The audio quality is fine. Thank in advance, for help.

You can use MPEG streamclip to convert videos, bear in mindthat the supported resolution is 800 x 600 max - you can make mp4 (mpeg 4) files and resize them with the software I just mentioned

iMovie exports .mov files. Just make sure that you export at a resolution equal to or greater than the Brookstone.
