DVD Studio Pro - Really weird problem URGENT HELP PLEASE!

Please help asap
i have dvd studio pro 3
have been using it quite often for over a year
when out of nowhere yesterday it quit working
all buttons in the project window doesnt work
acts like its just one big picture of the program, i can move it around
but nothing happens when i click anywhere on it
buttons, tabs, everything
BUT
the palette, and disc window act normal
i can even drag a template menu over into the menu box in the project window
please someone help me out
ive been having a couple of problems with my computer latly and no one here has been able to really help me, or try
i have a deadline coming up and i need this program
and dont have the money right now to upgrade anything
i already tried uninstalling the program and everything that has to do with it besides some project files that i cant get rid of just yet
as well as reseting my pram
and reinstalling the software from scratch
i attached a picture showing what works and what doesnt incase what im calling the project window isnt really called that
project window - part that doesnt work is in RED
palette and disc - parts that do work are in BLUE
thank you for any help

If a permissions repair didn't help, then you might want to trash your preference files located in the Library folder. Then try running it again.

when i uninstalled the program, and everything that has to do with it
that was one of the things i trashed
anything with dvd studio on it was trashed
restarted, then re-installed
still nothing
i even updated the software after i installed it

Could try a clean install of the system. Have you installed any other software that maybe effecting the program ? including system updates ?
