Is there a way to take a screenshot of a dvd in dvd player? the commad shift 3 doesnt work when i have a dvd playing.

trpnmonkey41, Hey thanks for that tip. Never tried to screen capture with the DVD playing. VLC does it though! Will come in handy in the future.

I believe this to be not only a feature of DVD Player not to allow screenshots (copyright reasons) but also because DVD Player uses hardware graphics overlays for MPEG-2 video; but I have a funny feeling the VLC does not use hardware overlays and hardware acceleration, and hence it will allow you to screenshot.

I'm not 100% on the last statement as VLC may use hardware acceleration; but I know for sure that screenshotting with DVD Player won't work as it's a design consideration by Apple.
