Newbie looking for capture card advice.

Hi guys. I've been doing a lot of research on capture cards lately because I've really been wanting to create and post videos from my Xbox360 to Youtube. I read all about it but I am very confused because I'm not extremely technically minded. From what I've read it looks like the Hauppauge HD PVR is the best way to go. BUT. I have also read that it needs additional software to run on the mac. I would really love to record in HD but I might be swayed if I have to purchase the Hauppauge as well as another $60+ dollars for software to run it as well. (I have a 2008 macbook 2.4 GHz) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To be honest, I know little about this subject, and my best suggestion is finding a tutorial on YouTube with this subject.
