Hi

Between QuickTime Player, VLC, and iTunes, which app would give the better picture quality from a movie, or is that a fair question to ask?

What video formats does iTunes except by default?

Thanks.

iTunes uses Quicktime for video playback, so from that point of view they are one in the same.
Out of the box VLC handles pretty much every video format. With Perian installed Quicktime can handle most of the common ones too.

As for quality. I've never noticed much if any difference in the playback quality between Quicktime and VLC. The quality of the video file has far greater bearing.

As for adding video to iTunes, it supports ".mov", ".m4v", or ".mp4"
