Re-importing to iMovie

I have edited a movie, exported the final product as a quicktime and threw the project from the project library into the trash. I now wish to recut that movie. I moved the file from the trash to the desktop. It's a .rcproject file. Looking for advice on how to get it back into projects? It does not allow me to drag and drop the file into the project library. I can reimport to event library but that combines the video tracks and audio tracks. This project has up to two video tracks and up to six audio tracks.

Putting it back into Home Folder>Movies.>iMovie Projects should work. As long as you still have the associated Events.
