Is it possible to take an .fcp file and all it's date with me to another computer...and finish editing from there?

Other than saving all of the video clips you're using to an external HD along with the Final Cut file....No.
The only way to include video in a FC file is File>Export>QuicktimeMovie>MakeSelfContained. But this is not editable. Get a nice External HD, copy your saved Final Cut Project along with these files: Users>YOU>Documents>FinalCutDocs>CaptureScratch to that External and take them with you to the other computer. When you open up the project it will probably say that all the video files went "offline" and you'll have to go in and reconnect everyone of them and it will suck. But if you really need to get some editing done, this should work. Good luck. I try to Command+Shift+/ when I can. Yep, that would work, you wouldn't have to drag the files onto the new Harddrive.
