Hi Guys,
At the moment all my avchd footage is stored in my external hard drive in a proves 422 format converted via toast.I then have edited my first ever video by importing the files into fcpx which it stores in a folder on the internal hard drive.I have seen somewhere on the net that it is better not to use the internal drive but to have all of the video being used in fcpx to be stored on the external drive my question is....is this correct and if so why?and how do i go about changing it. Many thanks Lee |

I have the same question. I suppose it allows your internal disk to be faster, "taking a load off."
Since I use two drives, I have my SSD to run FCPx and then the HDD to store the data. It runs pretty well, but huge files ~10Gb really hangs up my computer, and takes forever to render. I was thinking to get a Media server, set up with RAID 0+1! Not sure though. Waiting for replies! |
