i just figured this out, maybe some people all ready knew this, but if you import your movie into imovie (any movie you want) you can then go to file-share-quicktime-custom settings (or something like that)-ipod, and it will save it as an ipod movie to put on your ipod, or as an m4v to put into itunes...
