When i burn a dvd (with idvd) when the movie is vlc, i have no sound (when i play it after on tv) Do i need a new codec? Or i need to convert vlc to avi?

Depends on what codec your movie is in and what type of codec your TV supports. You need to get those facts before doing anything.

As far as I know VLC is a media player, not a codec.
