layering video clips

Is there any program other than Final Cut Pro for a Mac where you can layer video clips on top of one another and change their opacity (much like you would do with images in Photoshop)? Thanks in advance!

You can do it iMovie 09/11...I'm not at my compuetr ( Mac ) at the moment...but you drag a clip onto an existing clip...you will get a pop up menu...from there you choose Cutaway...open the clip inspector for that clip and adjust the opacity...( You must have advanced tools in preferences selected for this feature )

Thank you thank you thank you! I have been scouring the net trying to figure this out. I know Final Cut Pro does more complex layering but I simply can't afford it! I really appreciate your help.
