I was transferring from analog to digital and IMovie5 would capture but stop after 19:54:06. So I kept that clip they started where it left off and it did the same thing 3 times. I unchecked in preferences start new clip with each scene or something to that effect. I have done other transfers before and this has not happened although it was with IMovie 4.
Also with IDVD, I was burning a project and it said that it was too large although preferences had been checked to high but I clicked OK and it still burned anyway with no problem. Does IDVD look at the time of the project or the size and determines if it can burn or not. I noticed with Toast that they limit to 60 minutes. A real pain when you have a 2 hr video. How can you burn a 2 hr video then? |

Well as to your first problem:
I've noticed the same thing importing directly from a DV cam, haven't really found a fix yet though- I just let it run and it'll start a new clip every so often??? But it's not such a big deal for me at least. |

iDVD does do a time check, in that is make sure that you have 2 hours or less. Also is checks the size of the project to be burn to ensure that it will fit on a blank DVD. Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, It's about learning to dance in the rain! |

I have not used Final Cut Express, but i have played with Final Cut Pro. The capturing of your data is done a little different. In that I believe that you have to log your video clip first. Then you would do a capture. I found it was easier to use iMovie to capture the footage and then import the clips into Final Cut when ever I use it.
