Hi, I had some clips I wanted to transfer into iMovie in AVI format, but they wouldn't open. I opened them in Quicktime Player and saved them as .Mov format and tried agin but iMovie just said they were unusable. What's a format I can use that iMovie will accept and how do I convert my MOVs?

I am running Mac OS X 10.6.7 and have iMovie 11 (9.0.2).

Drag and Drop for Windows users:

DRAG your PC off your desk, and DROP it in the trash.

Use MPEGStreamclip and convert to Quicktime using the Apple Intermediate Codec option. That's best for editing in iMovie.

Thanks for your help, but I figured out how to do it. I just threw my converted MOVs into iTunes and clicked "create iPad or Apple TV version" under the advanced menu.

Drag and Drop for Windows users:

DRAG your PC off your desk, and DROP it in the trash.
