Everytime I try to import an avi into iMovie it stops about 3/4 through as if I cancelled the import. Should I use a different format? What else could the problem be?

how long is the video? Does it happen at 75% of all videos doesn't matter the lenght... or is it at a certain lengh (ie. 1 hour and 30 minutes every time regardless of the lenght of the video)

btw... it came with your computer not tiger so if you reinstall tiger dont' expect it to be there...

The movie that I tried first was 2 hours (took a really long time to import). I tried a shorter 20 minute clip and it stopped at the same place on the bar. I tried an mpeg and it was imported without a hitch.

hmmmm appears to be a problem with importing avi you can use quicktime pro to convert avi to mpeg or search version tracker or mac update to find an other application that will be able to do that.
