Does anybody know or have any ideas if and when Apple will support blu-ray? I'm curious to know if Apple will ever add blu-ray support to their iMovies and iDVD(iBlue-Ray). I think this is one area that I'd like to see Apple move on sooner rather than later because I hate the idea of recording a video in HD and then transferring it to the Mac only for it to either be downconverted or compressed where you lose quality to then be burned to a dvd for more quality lose. Why doesn't Apple support blu-ray and incorporate it into their iLife suite? I would much rather be able to burn to a blu-ray than a dvd optimized to playback hd home videos.

Probably never will, but we will have to wait and see. There are a fair few reasons they won't support it. More information on the debate here:
