    Specs:
    MacBook Pro 15" 2014, 2.2GHz i7, 16GB RAM, 250GB SSD, OSX 10.9.5 - iPhone 5s 16gb
Plus one for VLC, don't know where I would be without it, it's quite simply the best video player for OSX and Windows out there!!

    Specs:
    Mid-2012 MBP (16GB, 1TB HD), Monoprice 24-inch second monitor, iPhone 5s 32GB, iPad Air 2 64GB
In addition to VLC, there's MPlayerX, MPlayer OS X Extended, Movist and others.

Make sure you have Flip4Mac WMV Player and Perian installed for best results.

Plex is a very good video player for Mac. It is like Front Row on steroids. I would download it and try it out. It can play almost anything you throw at it.

Plex rules, but VLC is a good alternative, and if you get Perian, Quicktime is just as good.
