iMovie 9 vs. iMovie 11 . . .

I just started using iMovie. And I noticed in the new App Store for the Mac that iMove 11 is offered by itself for $15. Is there much difference between version 9 and version 11. It looks pretty good, now that we don't have to buy the entire iLife suite.

I was just wondering if it was worth the upgrade.

Careful with those '09s and '11s, iMovie 11 has a application version number of 9.0.x so cross check that with the version that you have in you applications folder so you don't accidentally buy iMove twice.
The version number can be seen in the "About iMove" or in the finder in the info window.

We can't really decide if it is worth the upgrade for you, for me it isn't because I do very little in film.
You can see all the new features added in iMove v9.0 (iLife 11) here and decide for yourself if it is worth it.

iMovie11 has improved audio editing capabilities over iMovie09, which is the reason I shall be buying it from the App Store shortly. I'm still using iMovie6HD because of it's better audio editing to 08 and 09.

I have iMovie '09 version 8.0.6 so 11 would definitely be an upgrade.

That's good to know. I think I will as well, for $15, I really can't loose.

I just bought and installed iLife 11 last week...for imovie 11 only...sheeesh...coulda saved $35........
