iMovie HD 6: Drag and Drop to Desktop vs. Exporting
Hi, I've recently come into some trouble with editing some HD footage. It seems my computer doesn't have enough memory or processing power to do the job, so I'm resorting to copying the files to an external hard drive and moving my work over to be edited on a friend's PC (with Premiere) that could handle the job. My question is, would the quality be best maintained if I simply just dragged and dropped the DV files that were imported into iMovie onto my Desktop/Hard Drive, OR would it be best to export? I believe the only difference would be the compression and a slight loss in quality, but I just wanted to make sure.

Use the original DV files, or Share to Quicktime using the Full Quality setting to get the best quality.
