I have a Panasonic HDC-SD9 that records to an SD card. I will have a USB SD card reader soon, and I was wondering if there is a way to load up the videos from the camera to my MacBookPro...

The only specs I could find for the camera says it records AVCHD. So you should be able to plug the USB cable into your Mac, startup iMovie 08/09/11 and review & import video. Ditto if you plug the card into a reader connected to the Mac.
