    Getting a m4v video into IMOVIES
    I recently had a disk of some video I shot and used HANDBRAKE/VLC to rip it so I could upload it into IMOVIE it was ripped into a M4V video now I have that on my desktop and am having trouble importing that into IMOVIE so I can edit it. If anybody could help me that would be great

    The problem is that .m4v is a H264 codec that isn't meant for editing, your best bet in importing it into iMovie is by opening the .m4v file in MPEG Streamclip and exporting it as a .mov (Quick Time) file or a .DV file.
    Both these format can then be imported into iMove and edited.
