Here is a page of video tutorials that will show you how to do everything you want to do:
Apple - iLife - Find out how to use iLife applications on the Mac.

Yeah well the thing is I already checked out those tutorials but they say nothing about how to put words etc. in your videos.
I think final cut pro is the only way to go but I don't have money for it.
Anyone know of a free download for final cut pro?

Free download = illegal download = not discussed here. FCE is $199, FCS is $999, no demo versions.

You can put titles in iMovie. Just do a search for iMovie titles or text on screen and you should be able to get a ton of tutorials.

My Macs: Late 2013 rMBP w/ 750m; Mac mini G4, 1.25 GHz, 512m ram (server); Late 2011 11" MBA, 1.8GHz i7, 4Gig Ram, 256Gig SSD, HD3000; Powerbook 12" G4 1.33GHz running Debian as a server; Apple TV (1080p version)

Get hold of a copy of David Pogue's Missing Manual for iMovie. It's full of clearly written and easy to follow advice. Cash well spent.
