Friend of mine at Full Sail recording school, has access to pretty much anything any mac guy could want for a fraction of the price. So i got him to get me a copy of FCP 5.
Im runnin osx.3.9, i really need to up grade. Anyways, FCP is like not working at all! FCP 4 worked WAY better than this! So far, if i want to capture footage, i MUST make sure FCP crashes first, then reboot it. It simply wont capture the first time around. Then, if im doing heavy editing, if i happen to click the mouse too fast, it crashes. And of corse, all my screen layouts have been reset. And if you want to capture footage, where youve paused on tape and resumed recording, FORGET IT! It wont recognize the timecodes...this is on 3 different cameras. Ive yet to even be able to render something. Its that unstable. FCP was my favorite editor. The last i used was 4.5 and i had no issues. Anyone else having these problems? ANything i can do? new vid 8/8/05 |

Sounds like something got really jacked up in the install... I am running FCP5 on both my PB and my iMac with no problems. I am running Tiger... But that shouldn't make that much of a difference.
Is this on your dual G5? "If you had a friend who was a tightrope walker, and you were walking down a sidewalk, and he fell, that would be completely unacceptable." -Mitch Hedberg

works fine for me, reinstall it again, or it could be something wrong with your computer.
