Hey everyone-

So I've been searching this for a few days now, and can't find my issue anywhere.

I got a macbook pro in Feb and have loved burning DVD projects. However, some of my avi files wont play in quicktime, which is a problem when I go to burn in iDVD.

On files that won't play in QT, in iDVD the video plays in the preview, but there is no audio in preview or on the final DVD.

These files play in VLC w/ audio, no problem.

I have Perian installed, nothing has changed. Version 1.2.1

Quicktime version: 10.0
Mac OS X 10.6.2

What the heck?

Thanks so much for any ideas you have. Really appreciate this forum as it has answered every other Mc question I've had

Use either Mpegstreamclip or Handbrake to convert the troublesome AVIs to mp4s which are more Mac friendly.

My Macs: Late 2013 rMBP w/ 750m; Mac mini G4, 1.25 GHz, 512m ram (server); Late 2011 11" MBA, 1.8GHz i7, 4Gig Ram, 256Gig SSD, HD3000; Powerbook 12" G4 1.33GHz running Debian as a server; Apple TV (1080p version)

No problem. Yeah, your best bet really is mp4/m4v or quicktime mov's on a Mac. Those both have native playback support without having to use additional software.
