Hey,

I've been using medialink to stream videos to my ps3 but the quality is pretty awful and the videos I'm playing usually start to freeze about half way through a 1 hour video, sometimes sooner. I have tried putting the files on a thumb drive and just copying them over but for some reason they do not appear on the PS3. The files are around a 1 gb each, i've tried .divx, avi. and .mov files.

I'm really looking for an alternative app that can stream the videos better, or, a reason as to why my files are not appearing on the PS3 when I plug in the usb drive.

My current solution to get the best video quality is to copy the files wirelessly using medialink but this takes a while for each video.

Thanks in advance for any help

As long as you're not trying to stream DRM protected video files from iTunes, this is what I have used in the past: ps3mediaserver - Project Hosting on Google Code as it will auto-transcode many different formats to stream to the ps3.

I say the past because now I just have a Mac mini hooked to my TV to act as a HTMac running Plex.

My Macs: Late 2013 rMBP w/ 750m; Mac mini G4, 1.25 GHz, 512m ram (server); Late 2011 11" MBA, 1.8GHz i7, 4Gig Ram, 256Gig SSD, HD3000; Powerbook 12" G4 1.33GHz running Debian as a server; Apple TV (1080p version)
