hey all, when i download an avi file the quicktime icon appears so i assumed it could play this file type, but when i try to play them it says i need a plugin or something, but it doesn't seem to have it on the qt website. is there something i'm missing? how do you play avi files with quicktime? thanks!

Download divx which should install the codecs you need. If not then use VLC Player
