iPhone camera recording on Mac

is there a way to record on the mac, but through the iPhone camera?
as in attach the iPhone as if its syncing, but actually its using the camera?

I haven't heard of anything.
Developers who would write such a thing would require low level access to the camera. Officially Apple currently does not allow that. Looks like that will be allowed in OS 4.
The bandwidth required to transfer video is rather high and demanding. From what I've been reading about Bluetooth, it likely would be very limited. So, for performance reasons you would require a WiFi connection instead.
I haven't seen anything to suggest Apple would allow this over a USB connection. They have opened up the USB connection to other peripherals, so maybe this will be possible with OS 4 as you would look at the Mac as the peripheral.CameraTime - Time lapse photography for novice and advanced users.
