    Converting .m4v files to regular .mpeg or similar formats
    Does anyone know a good free program to convert .m4v files into something a DVD player can play..

    I have a ton of movies on my laptop I want to burn to disk..

    Handbrake or ffmpegx.

    VisualHub if you can still find it.

    ReduxEncoder if you can't.

    Both are free.

    Roxio's Toast isn't free but it will do that and a lot more.
