I want to make a couple of basketball mixes, but don't know a good program for editing small clips out of games/videos... Any ideas? Preferably free.

I have often used a program called Squared 5 - MPEG Streamclip video converter for Mac OS X. It is a free program that opens and converts several video formats. It has basic editing features so you can cut larger files into smaller clips. The current version is 1.92. There is a 1.93 beta that I have not run yet although their betas are usually stable.

The program is free but to make fullest use of it you will need QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component for Mac OS X - Apple Store (U.S.). It currently costs about $20.00.

Don't blame me if following this advice causes loss of data, a rip in space time allowing dinosaurs to roam free, or your significant other to leave.
