being fairly new to apple, having made the leap PC, i was wandering what the best piece of software is for watching AVI files, as it seems that quicktime player doesn't?

Go ahead and download Perian. It will allow you to run most .avi files in Quicktime.

I would also suggest downloading VLC, because it can seriously play anything.

i have never had a problem with playing avi's with Quicktime

GS3 - Nexus 7 - 13in Macbook
