I would like to take video screen capture and then play it on my ipod. Right now I use jing, but that saves in .swf. Is there any new application that can either save video in a format other than swf or that can convert swf to mp4/avi?

I have read through all the google hits for this query and none of the programs work. I'm hoping that now in 2010, there is something out there.

If you are using snow leopard, quicktimeX has a screen recording tool.

How do you like them Apples?

Using QT for screen recording gives a .mov file. The other i have is Screenflick which gives compression choices as per pic.
Hope that helps.

To make sophisticated screen movies, I'd suggest Telestream's Screenflow or Techsmith's Camtasia. Best I've found.
