How to save .gif files from webHello,
I was wondering how to save a .gif file from the web. Every time I try, I just get the one frame. I've tried dragging and dropping and then opening in Preview, but no luck. I tried editing the toolbar in Preview so that it had a play button (as some google search gave me), but there wasn't a play button that I could add to the toolbar.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks!

ok, for example, let's say you have an image like:
if you open in preview - preview will not play the animated gif, it'll look like this:
If you don't see the list of images within the png, click the sidebar button at the top (should be there) and a portion should appear showing the images within the gif - if you see that, then you do actually have the animated gif.
To play the animated gif, you have 2 options with software already on your Mac that I know of (doesn't include getting additional software):
1) Use Safari to open the gif - this will do looped playback immediately
2) Use quicktime (I don't know off hand if X will open the gif, I know QT7 will) to open the gif and play back - by default it will play thru the frames a single time.My Macs: Late 2013 rMBP w/ 750m, 16Gig ram; 2013 Mac Pro 6 core w/ D700, 16Gig Ram; Mac mini G4, 1.25 GHz, 512m ram (server); Late 2011 11" MBA, 1.8GHz i7, 4Gig Ram, 256Gig SSD, HD3000; Powerbook 12" G4 1.33GHz running Linux; Apple TV (1080p version)

Awesome!!
Thanks a lot!
I'll just change it so that Safari opens all my .gif files.

GIFs!
Hi guys,
Thanks for posting this, it's really helpful, and I don't mean to sound stupid, but how exactly do you change your computer settings to make GIF files open in Safari? Mine are opening in Preview as well, as I don't know how to change it. Any help would be greatly appreciated- thanks!

Right click > Get Info > Open With > change that to whatever app you'd like (in this case, Safari) > Change All...
That should do it.Important Links: Community Guidelines : Use the reputation system if you've been helped.

If you're so inclined you can also view them animated in QuickLook, if you install the AnimatedGIF_QL.qlgenerator plugin.
Don't remember where I got it, try Google.

save gif files from webIf your pictures are still pictures of the leaflets, can use the ACDSee software, point "tools" - "format conversion", choose the GIF format to identify it.
Paint software that comes with is also available. Point "menu" - "Save as" dialog file format gif format can open the picture. This software into the format the effect of better than ACDSee good.
If your image is moved to the multi-frame GIF images, it is necessary to use other software. 5 or photoshop software such as Ulead gif.
