DVD to my mac.

This may have been asked several times before, my apologizes if it has. I recently came across some cassettes and have since transferred the home videos to a DVD disc. I was wondering if I can get these videos onto my macbook so I can watch them without a disc inserted. I've read about "handbrake" but I am looking for some feedback. I would appreciate any replies. Thanks!

Yes, Handbrake will do the trick. I would recommend using the Apple TV preset, which will maintain the quality and encode them in H.264, which is a capable and universally accessible codec.Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
