    Problem burning in iDVD
I have an MP4 file (786.4MB), I want to use iDVD to burn it to DVD. I thought this would be very straight-forward but I'm having problems...

When i create a new project (16:9) and drag the file in, I get the message:

"Your project exceeds the maximum content duration. To burn your DVD, change the encoder setting in the Project Info window."

So I go into the Project Info Window there are 3 encoding settings, none of these let me burn the DVD. What am I doing wrong?

    iMac, and Macbook Pro
Silly question: are you sure you are trying to burn to a DVD and not a CD?

How long is the content as well? Size of an mp4 doesn't really reflect size that will be generated once it's converted to mpeg2...

    It's defo a Dvd - 4.7GB.

The content is a movie. The actual length is 1hour 4mins.

I also have Toast but it's my first time burning movies onto DVD so just looking for an easy way to do it.

I will also add that I have other files such as AVI and MKV that I am also looking to burn to disc.

You should be able to fit 1 hr 4 min on a 4.7G dvd without a problem, Have you tried downloading Burn and seeing if that would work? (it's free)

You should have no problem doing it in iDVD, I don't know why it would be saying it's exceeding the max length - even on best performance...
