Quicktime X or Quicktime Pro?
I've got Snow Leopard for Mac and it comes with Quicktime X. However, I've got a bunch of clips on this website in Quicktime that I want to download and it doesn't have that 'arrow' tab that allows me to "Save As Source" "Save As Movie" etc. I need to know, if I buy Quicktime Pro, will I be able to use that feature to save video unconditionally?

Does anybody know about this? I really need to know as soon as possible, thanks. :)

I don't think that there is an 'unconditional' capability. I'm under the impression that the QuickTime player can be told not to allow the 'Save As' option.

I just did a quick test and found that QT embedded on a page (my private one) could be downloaded. QT 7 seems to be working in that case. If I had a direct link to a QT movie, the QT 10 seems to be used instead, and as you've notice there is no 'Save As' capability.

When you install Snow Leopard, you are given the option to keep QT 7. If you chose this option, it installs it in your Utilities folder. If you didn't, you can put you SL install DVD back in and install it after the fact, very easily.

QT X does NOT have the features of QT 7, no save as, no export, nothing. So, you want QuickTime Pro 7, not QT X for sure. QT X is very crippled.
