    avi files into iMovie

I am new to Mac and apologize if this is a very simple question. I have searched through the posts and couldn't find an answer to my question.

I have a new MacBook Pro with the iMovie software it came with. I have .avi footage that I want to make into a movie, and iMovie will not recognize the .avi files. What do I need to do?

Try the website and have a look. I use their video convertor to change avi into mp4 for my iPod Touch, but they do other stuff as well.

I've never had a problem with any iSkysoft software so would recommend them.
