Most of the digital cameras are using some form of AVCHD which gets converted (to a sensible file format) when you hook up the camera. I think Panasonic makes a pro camera that encodes it content into a .MOV file allowing for drag and drop into Final Cut Pro. I'm not aware of a consumer camera that does that.
