I'm trying to watch a video (.avi) a friend gave me, but when I try to run it in quicktime, there is no audio. I try it in divX player, and it tells me:

"This file contains a track in the Dolby AC3 Audio (code "8192") format. You may need to install a DirectShow decoder for this audio format in order to hear the soundtrack of this file."

I've tried google, and all I've found is windows converters and advertisements.

Any suggestions?

I assume you have perian installed, have you tried flip4mac? Or VNC to see if it will play correctly?

I have the same problem, but I cannot find a proper directshow decorder for Mac. ACFilter works for window only. Anyone can help us.
