Installing FCP studio on external drive

Hi, I wen to install FCP studio on my Macbook and i didnt have enough room on my internal drive for the install.
Can i install on my external drive?

Yes you can!(at least part)

You haveto install the applications on your hard drive, but you can install the content on your external, which is the bulk of the application.

Or you can just chose which applications you really need to install.

I end up using only fcp, compressor and soundtrack and once in a while dvd studio pro.

I never use LiveType and the soundtrack sample library.
