I have a small collection of video (a few seconds each) taken from my Olympus camera and from my LG Shine cellphone.
I have no problem downloading the videos from the Olympus camera to either iPhoto or iMovie, the problem is, I am able to download the movies taken from my cellphone to iPhoto but I cannot transfer them (or even drag them) to iMovie to burn them to a dvd.

I can drag them to the desktop (from the camera or iPhoto) but somehow iMovie will not recognize them and everytime I drag them into iMovie they just dissapear.

Am I doing something wrong? I have no clue as to what type of video it is (I am very sorry but I am very ignorant on the subject). All I know, is that the movies are stored in an SD card or a Micro SD card and I use a card reader.

I thank you in advance for any replies on this subject

if you can get them to play in Quicktime then they will import in to iMovie.

TRy downloading Perian to see if the extended codec support that gives you will let you use the video

Perian - The swiss-army knife of QuickTime® components

If they still do not play in Quicktime, or import then try using MPEG Streamclip to convert them to a quicktime file

Squared 5 - MPEG Streamclip video converter for Mac and Windows

what version of iMovie have you got

Thanks for your reply. I use iMovie '09

They do play in Quicktime and when I look at the description, it tells me they are 3gpp movies (I have no idea what that is). Also, Quicktime does not give me the option to either export it anywhere or save it, as those areas are grayed out.

Do you have any suggestions?.......Please.....
