Final Cut Pro Rendering Question

so i've been trying to import some Flip video files into FCP. i've been exporting the Flip files into .mov files. no problems there.
i just notice that every time i try to move my footage in the time line, it has to be rendered. EVERY TIME! this kills my workflow.
is there any way i can change or get around this?

Sounds like you first need to convert that from the codec contained in the .mov file to something friendly to FCP. Likely a DV format or AIC (Apple Intermediate Code) with 48Khz audio if I recall right. I would just open the file in QuickTime Pro and save in an appropriate format.CameraTime - Time lapse photography for novice and advanced users.
