Uncheck the box for Over Black
Go to the view where it shows each of the clips instead of the timeline view Drag the subtitle (see pdf for the thing im talking about) onto the clip you want it on Don't forget to use the new User Reputation System |

Having had that problem in the past. Just be sure that the over black box is un-checked before you do the drag and drop.

Yup, the over-black box is unchecked *before* I drag and drop, and it still doesn't want to attach itself to the clip. It insists on going either before or after it, and automatically becomes an over-black, even though I've unchecked it a million times. Maybe there is something I need to adjust in the preferences?
Ugh. I worked with Adobe Premiere for over five years (on some complex stuff) with no trouble, and this basic, simplistic little iMovie is really grating my cheese. |
