Quality of video

Okay... I have a flip video camera and when i import the videos onto my computer they are in really good quality. But when i make it into mpeg4 format, it really messes up the quality of the video. Is there any way to keep the same quality of the first format? Any tips or hints?

have you checked the picture on it's "get onfo" ?
Is there any differences in the mega pixels?
