I would like to get a new camcorder. Please help me choose the right camcorder based on the following needs.

Hi-def
Records on to Hard drive
works great with iMovie
Price range: $500 - $1000
low light and quality.

Thank you.

Just got mine and it works great. Found it online for $499 at B&H Photo, I think it was.

HDD? Are you sure?
If you scrap the HDD for DV you can get a high quality DV Cam. Which is most cases alot better then HDD.

Greetings.
I agree with Luminosity. DV offers near broadcast quality and if you get a camera with DV in, you can record back to tape for archiving - just in case your precious recordings on DVD get ruined.
QUOTE Thanks
