low cost special effects software for OS X?

Can someone recommend a special effects software bundle for OS X using imovie and FCP2. A low cost starter kit would be nice. The basics (green screen, laser, flying) we are not starting another ILM here. ;-)

GeeThree has SlickFX Final Cut. They also have effects for previous versions of iMovie 08. There are no third party effects for iMovie 08.

FCP handles green screen and has many effects. Motion may be helpful too.

I took a look. Looks like a great set of FX tools and at the right price.
