Converting DVD to MPEG4?

i was wondering how can u convert a DVD into mpeg4 format? i allready have toast titanium if thats any help

If you have the actual video file, then use Compressor to change it into MPG4. If you want to get it from a DVD, use Mac The Ripper and Handbreak to turn it into an avi, then compress it.

actually, handbrake can do it by itself, without having to use mactheripper first, and it can rip it to mpeg4. just mess with the settings in handbrake.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that the only time you can bypass the MacTheRipper step is on DVDS that don't have the CSS or CCS (what ever the encoding protection is). If the DVD is encoded, then you must use MacTheRipper..

However, I was told this, so i'm not 100% sure if Handbreak unlocks the encryption.

i've never run into a dvd that hasn't worked under handbrake, but then again i've never checked to see whether they were all encrypted. odds are they couldn't have all been unencrypted though.
