Im getting two new macs tomorrow, an imac and a macbook pro. We are new to macs but with dual boot, my wife and I are very excited.

We have been watching tours, tutorials, and videos and cant wait to receive our macs tomorrow.

Having said that im contemplating buying Final Cut Studio 2 and an Adobe suite but want to be sure ill be able to install my copy on both computers.

The license is usually for one computer unless you purchase a "family license" which allows more than one install on a different computer.

That is correct, the software can only run on one computer at a time. If the software detects it is running on another computer at the same time, it will shut down the software, until it is no longer running somewhere else.
