Importing Video to iMovie with no clips

Is there any way to pull a video off of my minidv cam into imovie without it making clips. It makes clips in places that I dont want them

why would you wanna do that? theres probably another app thatll be easier to do it with.

Final Cut Express/pro will do it with out clips
Then you can just set inpoints and out points and edit it there, iMovie will creat clips when ever it detects a break in the data, so if you never push the pause button there will be no clips, If your camera is a very good quality where it does everthing smoothly, there will aslo be no clips
