I am a new convert to mac and want to know how to trim a video in iMovie or suggest me some light weight software in mac for it.

I have a one hour long video and I want to take some parts off. iMovie seems so bloated software. I did some editing and exported and iMovie showed that it will take 232 minutes. I just want to remove the unwanted stuff from the .avi file and burn into a DVD.

Please suggest other DVD burning software if you think iDVD is not great. I am new so I am not sure how good or bad is iDVD as compared to other softwares.

QUOTE Thanks

On the timeline at the point in the video where you find the content that you do not want in the video, choose to split the track at the playhead, then move the playhead to the end of the scene that you do not want and split the track again. Then just cut out the clip in between the two splits to throw it away.
QUOTE Thanks
