Can't read ASF files on a MacBook Pro?
I have an external camera (a USB connected microscope) that records video in ASF format. When I try to import the microscope's video into iMovie the file appears grayed out in the import window. Is there a way to get around this problem?

Sorry, probably something obvious I didn't think of.

I think ASF might be a Micro$oft format, so it probably can't be imported into iMovie. If you want to play it, I recommend VLC or MPlayer.
There is no system but GNU and Linux is one of its kernels.

you may be able to open it in MPEGStreamclip and convert it a Mov file

also download the codecs, perian and Flip4Mac if you haven't already
