connecting sony DCR-HC28 to computer

hi we got our sony video camera a year or so ago and now that we h ave our new imac we want to put it on to work with imovie and other editing programs. it came with no cables other than charging and cables to connect to tv. would a firewire work to connect it? thanks

Check you manual, but I think a 4-pin to 6-pin cable is what you want. That is the norm and you camera has firewire (iLink) from a spec I saw.
